Darja Žnidaršič, nurse, a Tellington Practitioner for all animals and people, Energetic Osteopath for horses, and a Reiki master. Throughout the years I’ve been expanding my knowledge at educational seminars on kinesiology, homeopathy, craniosacral therapy, and animal behavior (behaviorism). 29 years ago, I decided – along with my husband and friend – on a professional life path with animals and Nature. All these years I’ve worked and lived with a group of horses, as well as dogs, cats, and many other animals who are my teachers and partners when working with children. My life wish is to make people understand that animals, plants and other living beings are our co-beings, and we are just one of them. I believe that the Animal and Nature Ambassadors World Congress will be a big step towards making my wish come true. The lecturers and participators will be people who know animals, plants and other co-beings from practice: as scientists or as people whose life is closely linked with Nature. But because “we didn’t inherit Nature, we borrowed it from our children” and my life has always been tightly intertwined with thousands of children, the conference will be co-created by thousands of children and young people, making it that much stronger energetically.
Diana Jecič, economist by profession, animal and nature lover by heart. She believes that the future of humanity depends on how we will treat animals, the planet, and each other. She’s certain that our task is to be conscious of our attitude towards animals and to teach children about the wonders of these beings and listen to them. Diana has taken part in additional education on the topic of the treatment of animals, signed the petition against animal testing, donates to animal protection societies, and also runs a fun website about cats. The main inspiration for the site is her cat Panča, and her companion on walks is her German Wirehaired Pointer named Lana.
Meta Štravs, nurse and student of special education and rehabilitation. From a young age I’ve been interested in nature and exploring the world around me. Right now my days are taken up by my three children (Tinkara, 9, Jure, 6, and Jakob, 2) and my partner, my pets, visitations with Ambasadorji nasmeha, researching animal assisted therapy, and educating myself about animals and alternative approaches to them. I’ve been carrying out animal assisted therapy and activities for seven years. At the moment I’m working with a dog named Zora, two cats named Čarli and Snow, a pig named Albert, rabbits named Snežka, Pika, Lola and Daisy, two guinea pigs named Pikica and Bučka, a bearded dragon named Trn, an African white-bellied hedgehog named Gregory, two snails from the Achatinidae family named Tine and Bine, a chinchilla named Čili, two geese named Vili and Gaga, and Japanese silkie chickens named Jaka, Pepca, Fani and Reza. I visit many different people, from preschool children to the elderly. When working, I try my best to listen to my animal coworkers and work for their good. Beside the animals I work with, I also share my home with four dogs named Lev, Snoopy, Marley and Mausi, two cats named Mimi and Lili, two goldfish, walking sticks, and with five Achatinidae snails. Our daily life is intertwined with animals and exploring nature. I also learn a lot from my children whose point of view helps me maintain my childlike curiosity and desire to seek out new knowledge.
